Tamara Davis

Tamara DavisTamara Davis, Ph.D., M.S.S.W., was appointed to the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board (ADAMH) by the Ohio Department of Mental Health. Her appointment runs through June 30, 2011. Davis currently works as an Assistant Professor in the College of Social Work at The Ohio State University. She graduated from the University of Louisville with a bachelor’s degree in Counseling & Guidance in 1993 and a master’s degree in Social Work in 1995. She received her doctorate in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin in 2003, after which she completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. Davis serves as a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Ethnic and Cultural Diversity in Social Work and is also a consulting editor for the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) Advisor. She also acts as a consulting member for the Cultural Competence Task Force at the Institute for Human Services in Columbus.
