Aces, Paces and Addiction Summit

October 19, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Franklin County Public Health (FCPH) and partners will host an “ACEs, PACEs, and Addiction Summit” to explore the roots of addiction in adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) at both the interpersonal and community level. This Summit will also explore the role that protective and compensatory experiences (PACEs) play in mitigating the impact of ACEs. Understanding risk and protective factors for addiction can better equip us to treat addiction both in the near-term, through intervention and treatment in children and adults who have experienced ACEs, as well as in the next generation. The Franklin County ACEs, PACEs and Addiction Summit will explore the influence of ACEs on the development of addiction, as well as protective and compensatory experiences (PACEs) that can ameliorate the effects of childhood trauma in children and adults.
