Mental Health for Deaf & Hard of Hearing: Free Continuing Education Training

The Deaf Services Center, in partnership with the Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) are pleased to announce the 2021 Mental Health for Deaf and Hard of Hearing virtual training series. The series features two tracks with trainings in May and June. The “Providing Culturally Appropriate Mental Health Care to Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals” trainings will be held via Zoom on May 7, May 21, June 4, June 10 and June 25 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. A self-paced training video is also available. The “American Sign Language for Mental Health Professionals” series (multiple dates in May and June) will help professionals learn basic ASL to effectively serve persons who are deaf or hard of hearing.
