Ohio Health Department Improvement Zone Training presented in partnership by NAMI Franklin County and ArkBuilders

December 7, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

The Improvement Zone initiative is a coordinated effort to address mental health and wellness and reduce stigma in communities of color in North and East Columbus neighborhoods. The kick off workshop is designed to develop cultural competence within the BIPOC community of Columbus. The training, Essence of Ethnic Difference, is designed to help participants view difference as a positive, making empowerment a more realistic goal. The Improvement Zones will work with community members to create BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) Community Alliances, support youth led programming through Incubators for Success and work with faith communities to reduce stigma and raise mental health awareness.
