Problem Gambling Network of Ohio is offering three specialty topic gambling-specific trainings this spring.
On April 15, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Marc Lefkowitz will be presenting Case Management, Treatment Options, and Financial Recovery for Problem Gambling Clients. This training will focus on how case management can help patients develop an aftercare plan and access the tools to maintain abstinence from gambling. The workshop will then focus on problem gambling and its relationship with money.
On April 29, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Marc Lefkowitz will be presenting Problem Gambling in Media & Working the Gambler’s Anonymous 12-Step Program. This training will feature clips depicting problem gambling themes that will help counselors better understand the language and symptoms of problem gambling. The workshop will close with an overview of each Step in the Gambler’s Anonymous 12-Step Program.
On May 12, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Victor Ortiz will be presenting Drugs, Alcohol, and Mental Health: Where and How Does Gambling Fit? This training will focus on identifying the interconnectedness of problem gambling to addiction and mental health within clinical practice.
Each training will provide 4 CEUs approved by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board, the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, and the International Gambling Counselor Certification Board.
