Chemical Dependency Therapist
The chemical dependency counselor provides assessment, treatment planning and direct services to persons with drug and alcohol addiction as well as mental illness. Target populations include individuals, couples, families and groups who are homeless, mentally ill and chemically dependent. Expertise includes knowledge of treatment resources, referral and linkage procedure to those resources, plus appropriate clinical skills. This person joins other team members in providing short term treatment and crisis intervention services to homeless, mentally ill clients. In addition, the Chemical Dependency Counselor provides prevention, consultation and education services to Southeast employees and to other community agencies and organizations.
