Concord Counseling Services is seeking a School-Based Mental Health Specialist to provide extra support and counseling to high school students to help them develop strategies to change their behavior or cope with difficult situations.
The Mental Health Specialist collaborates with Concord’s prevention staff, school counselors, teachers and administrators and community therapists, as well as advocates and assists students and their families to get the resources they need to improve the student’s social-emotional and physical well-being.
The job duties for this position include, but are not limited to: individual counseling, support, advocacy, crisis intervention/risk assessments, de-escalation, re-entry from hospitalization, linking families with community resources and collaborating with school staff and administrators.
Candidates must have a Master’s degree and be licensed LISW/LPCC or LSW/LPC
Must have clinical experience working with adolescents; experience working in a school setting is preferred, but not required
Must be proficient with using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel and Electronic Medical Records
Must be a self-starter, be able to work independently, have excellent time-management, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
