Therapist Job Description
Under the direction of the Clinical Manager and/or Director of Outpatient Services, the Therapist will be responsible for substance use and mental health counseling, case management and treatment planning for clients who have been referred to Maryhaven’s Adult Outpatient Program for treatment. The Therapist will maintain a caseload of clients receiving AOD and mental health treatment while providing individual and group counseling services. The Counselor will complete assessments, urinalysis screenings, and documentation in a timely manner while making referrals for assessed needs and appropriate level of care. The Therapist will work with other clinicians and medical staff on the team to address client needs and promote treatment goals.
Therapist Requirements
Associate Arts or Bachelor’s degree in human service or behavioral science with two (2) years of experience in the field of chemical dependency or mental health treatment required.
LCDC III, LPC, LSW, LISW, or comparable license or certification with two (2) years of paid full-time experience in the files of chemical dependency or mental health treatment or equivalent required. Proven work experience in the substance abuse or mental health field or similar role, this could include a paid or unpaid internship. The team is open to new graduates.
Workweek: Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 pm
