The ADAMH (Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health) Board of Franklin County, situated in downtown Columbus, is a Franklin County governmental agency that is seeking a video and digital content intern to support the ADAMH Public Affairs department. The internship is open to students during Summer 2019. The intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge in digital content creation, digital communications, non-profit/governmental marketing, public affairs and community relations. Internship Opportunities and Responsibilities:

  • Lead video content development, production and editing
    • Special projects will include:
      • ADAMH-funded Summer Camp videos
      • Accomplishments video showcasing ADAMH’s VPM (Visual Project Management) program and their internal motivational materials
      • ADAMH System of Care highlight videos
    • Create graphic design elements for use on social media, the ADAMH website and print
    • Contribute to the development and execution of digital and social media strategies to increase engagement
    • Brainstorm and create new and innovative content pieces
    • Assist in tracking and analyzing digital performance KPIs concerning ADAMH’s website and social media platforms
    • Capture, edit, produce and publish video content to and associated social media platforms
    • Draft weekly status reports of activities and progress
    • Additional public affairs related tasks may be added to fit the skill set and desires of the intern.

Required Skills, Experience & Abilities:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate student (junior or senior) seeking degree in digital media, videography, graphic design, public relations, or a related field
  • Prior videography, audio/video production, graphic design, marketing or public relations coursework
  • Proficient in video techniques, including camera positioning
  • Candidate must possess strong audiovisual, communications and organizational skills
  • The student must also have a reliable vehicle to travel to provider locations and/or community events throughout Franklin County
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premier Pro and After Effects, or other NLE software
  • Experience with DSLR camera operations
  • Experience in Canva is a plus
  • Videography, Photography and business Social Media content creation experience preferred
  • Experience with Google Analytics and SproutSocial is a plus
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

Work hours:

  • Flexible start and finish date depending on student’s college and work schedules
  • Flexible hours, about 15 hours per week, negotiable depending on college program requirements


  • Unpaid
  • Mileage for travel to provider locations and community events will be reimbursed
