Directions for Youth & Families (DFYF) is a resiliency-oriented and trauma-informed agency, whose mission is to build and inspire hope, healing, and resilience for youth, families, and communities through counseling and education. Their programs are divided into four categories: Counseling and Clinical Services, Kindergarten Readiness, Prevention, and After-School/Summer programs. Counseling and clinical services provide individual, family, and/or group counseling dealing with a variety of issues. The vast majority of their counseling services are provided on an outreach basis, in the home, school or community to remove barriers to services. Kindergarten Readiness and Prevention programs work to strengthen the family unit and prepare youth for success. After-school/Summer programs provide youth with positive and stimulating educational and recreational after-school and summer programming.
