Building Exterior
The Franklin County Crisis Care Center is located in the West Edge area at 465 Harmon Ave.
Front Entrance
The crisis care center was designed to feel warm and welcoming. The large floor-to-ceiling windows allow transparency for guests as they enter the facility.
Open 24/7
The crisis care center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, because a mental health crisis can occur at any time, day or night.
Lobby
Natural light filters in the building entrance to create an atmosphere of hope and healing.
Intake and Triage
This is where a rapid welcome process is led by peer support specialists, collaborating with appropriate mental health clinicians to assess a guest’s immediate needs and set them up for care.
23-Hour Observation (The Retreat)
Each retreat unit can accommodate up to 20 people and offers a home-like care environment. Services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each guest, providing a compassionate and welcoming space designed to support mental health and recovery.
Space for Everyone
There are additional support service spaces on the perimeter of the observation units including visiting rooms, consultation rooms, quiet rooms and single recliner rooms to accommodate individuals who prefer their care in a more secluded setting.
Courtyard
Access to sunlight and fresh air is important for an individual’s healing journey. The center includes courtyard spaces for both guests and staff.
Discharge Lobby
Regardless of how a guest arrives or what steps they need along the way, they will leave through a different door than when they first walked in. This building is intentionally designed to facilitate a forward-moving journey to support individuals as they continue their recovery in the community.
The discharge lobby also includes a pharmacy to ensure guests leave with needed medications in hand. This removes the barrier of having to go somewhere else to fill initial prescriptions and helps reduce the likelihood of repeat crises.
