ADAMH Becomes Administrator of Columbus Area Operations
Updated on Tuesday, June 11, 2019
All Columbus Area locations are no longer providing services as of May 24, 2019.
Client health and well-being are our highest priorities. ADAMH is committed to ensuring every affected person receives continued services by connecting them with one of our other ADAMH providers.
Columbus Area Clients: If you have not already connected with another provider, we want to be sure you are receiving the services that you need.
Please refer to the above list and contact one of these providers to receive services. If you would like your Columbus Area record transferred to your new provider, the new provider can help you complete an authorization form to request the records from ADAMH.
If you are 18 or older and in crisis or need an assessment and referral to another provider, please contact Netcare at 614.276.CARE (2273) or by online chat at netcareaccess.org. Parents or guardians of youth under 18 in crisis should contact Nationwide Children’s Hospital at 614.722.1800.
If you do not request that your record be transferred to another service provider, ADAMH will retain your client record until June 1, 2026, as required by Ohio law. If you would like a copy of your own record, complete the request form below to access, inspect, or copy that record. ADAMH has 30 days to get the records printed and mailed or emailed to you.
We hope you are able to connect with another community mental health provider that meets your needs.
Background Information:
On April 26, the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County (ADAMH) received a request from the Columbus Area Board of Trustees to serve as administrator of all Columbus Area operations. This change in administration was approved by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. ADAMH assumed operations of Columbus Area effective April 30, 2019.
Key Columbus Area staff were employed by ADAMH as contract staff in an attempt to assure timely transfer of clients to other ADAMH providers.
ADAMH is committed to ensuring the people who are receiving services at Columbus Area continue to receive the care they need. The health and well-being of all the people served by Columbus Area are our highest priorities. ADAMH staff are working to link Columbus Area clients to other providers and prioritized meeting with clients who have the highest needs. Those include people with urgent or ongoing medication needs. ADAMH scheduled new walk-in hours each week at the 1515 E. Broad Street location to meet with as many clients as possible. Over 500 people were connected to new providers through these walk-in hours. We are doing everything we can to link people to care.
We would like to thank the ADAMH providers, other health providers and community partners who have reached out to us to offer assistance. We will continue to keep the community updated on our progress.
ADAMH is engaged in conversations with community members about how to best meet the future needs of the people living on the near east side.
