Are you interested in learning how to identify when someone might be struggling with a mental health or substance use problem? Do you want to be able to connect someone with appropriate support and resources when necessary? Spaces are available in three upcoming Adult Mental Health First Aid classes!
All of these classes are virtual and the instructor-led portion will be 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Answers to some Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I need to attend all three sessions?
No, each session is identical so you only need to register for one date.
How long is the virtual Mental Health First Aid course?
Virtual Mental Health First Aid consists of 2 hours of self-paced online coursework and a 6-hour instructor-led online session, 5.5 hours of training plus break time. You cannot attend the instructor-led session without completing the online coursework first.
What technology do I need?
To attend virtual Mental Health First Aid, you need access to a desktop/laptop computer OR mobile device/tablet/Surface; iOS, Android, Windows enabled. If your computer does not have a microphone, you can use the dial-in option from your phone for audio. Out of consideration for other attendees, we ask that you join the class from a quiet, private, distraction-free space.
Is this still an interactive course?
Yes! During the instructor-led session, you will be visible to the instructors and other participants. You can talk and interact as you would in an in-person class. (The self-paced online coursework is not interactive.)
When will you offer in-person classes again?
We will go back to offering in-person classes only when we can be sure it is safe to do so.
What if I register, but can no longer attend?
Space in the virtual class is limited and attendees cannot be added at the last minute. If you register but can no longer attend, please allow us to offer your seat to someone else by notifying me as soon as possible: mtraverse@mhaohio.org or 614-221-1441, ext. 115.
