Toni Johnson Liggins, M.D., was appointed to the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Her appointment runs through June 30, 2025. Dr. Liggins has dedicated her career in serving marginalized communities, addressing the stigma of mental health care, and improving the educational opportunities for under-represented minorities in medicine. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School and completed residency training in psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic. She practiced psychiatry for more than 25 years. She is married to Rev. Timothy E. Liggins and is First Lady of Bethel AME Church. Together, they have six children ranging in age from 23 to 33 years.
