Mitzi Kirkbride was appointed to the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board by the by the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services. Her appointment runs through June 30, 2024. Kikbride came to the ADAMH Board from California where she served as Senior Director of Puppy Raising at Guide Dogs for the Blind. Prior to that, Kirkbride was Executive Director of Support Dogs Inc. in Columbus and St. Louis. She is a former Board of Trustee and former member of the ADAMH Consumer and Family Advocacy Council (CFAC). She was active in various organizations, including Assistance Dogs International, where she served as Vice President of the Board of Directors and the National Committee for the Establishment of Guidelines for Animal Assisted Activities, where she assisted with the development of the original guidelines for animal assisted activities.
