ADAMH, Netcare and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office have combined efforts to help keep people living with mental health disorders out of jails, and get them into treatment instead.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Community Intervention and Diversion unit, or CID, is working with Netcare and ADAMH to shift mindsets.
Sgt. Blacker says in the last 10 years, the sheriff's office has seen an excessively high number of people in jail who struggle with mental illness.
Since January, the CID unit, partnering with ADAMH and Netcare, has responded to 438 calls, helping to divert people with mental health disorders from the jail and getting them linked with treatment.
